What this notice covers
This page states the limits on the rest of 2255motion.com. The guides, the news notes, and the client-story videos are general information about federal § 2255 motions and the federal remedies discussed next to them. They are not legal advice, and they are not a comment on any reader’s case. Statutes and decisions change. Read the page that cites the statute or case, then check the current text, before you treat a summary as complete.
The videos are labeled advertising material. Each one is a person speaking about one case. The same outcomes notice applies to those videos and to any result described in a news note: Outcomes vary. A past result does not predict or guarantee the outcome of any other case.
Federal cases only
Criminal Center handles federal cases only. This site explains motions under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 and the federal tools the guides already cover, including a § 2241 petition when the saving clause applies and coram nobis after custody ends. It does not cover state criminal cases, state habeas, or state clemency.
Brandon Sample is licensed in Vermont, and practice is limited to federal courts and federal agencies. He has also handled federal cases in courts across the country. The courts where he is admitted are listed on his biography.
How we use what you send
Sending a message does not make us your lawyer. The form on the consultation page asks for your name, how to reach you, and basic facts about the federal case, such as the court, the case stage, and the charges. You also confirm two lines that appear on this page: contact does not create an attorney-client relationship, and unsolicited information may not be confidential. Keep any description short. The rest can wait until we talk.
We use what you send to answer the request, to decide whether we can help, and, if you book, to set a time. We do not sell that information. The privacy policy names what the form collects, the companies that host the site and store intake records, and how long inquiry records are kept. Questions about that policy can go to help@criminalcenter.com.
